Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum is at 100 Fort St. The museum, which honors a frontier pharmacist known for his friendship with and knowledge of the Plains Native Americans, houses more than 30,000 artifacts. Included in the displays are a variety of firearms, historical photographs depicting the early days of the West, Native American artifacts and pioneer items.
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8-6, Sat. 9-5, Sun. noon-5, Memorial Day weekend-Labor Day; Mon.-Fri. 8-4, rest of the year. Closed Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
