Western History Center is 5 mi. w. at 2308 US 26. The center has displays about archeological excavations and the physical evidence left behind by the area's earliest citizens. In addition to a working lab, visitors can see fossils, mammoth bones and projectile points&#8212;items found in local digs that enable researchers to understand the lives of early residents of the Western plains.</br>Dig tours are available upon request.</br>Guided tours are available. </br>
Donations. Reservations are required.
Hours: Wed.-Thurs. and Sat. 10-4, Fri. 10-3, Sun. 1-4, Memorial Day-Labor Day; Mon.-Tues. and Sat. 10-3, Thurs.-Fri. 10-2, rest of year. Phone ahead to confirm schedule. Allow 1 hour minimum.
