Carbon County Museum is at 904 W. Walnut St. Displays tell the story of Wyoming's first female physician, Lillian Heath. Restored Western artifacts include a sheepherder's wagon, an original Wyoming flag, a 1920 hook-and-ladder fire truck, a 1900s buggy, a horse-drawn sleigh and shoes made from outlaw “Big Nose” George Parrot's skin. The Discovery Zone offers child-friendly, hands-on exhibits. Changing exhibits depict life in the West, Native American lore, ranching and the Union Pacific Railroad.
