Wyoming Frontier Prison is at 500 W. Walnut St. The prison replaced the territorial prison in Laramie in 1901 and operated until 1981. A 1-hour guided tour includes three cell blocks, a cafeteria, an exercise yard, visiting rooms, a gas chamber and the death house. Three museums and a walking path also are on the premises.

Hours: Tours daily 8:30-4:30, Memorial Day-Labor Day; Mon.-Thurs. at 10:30 and 1:30, rest of year. Night tours are available by appointment. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and day after Christmas.
