According to local history, the first people originated from "Apoala," a mythical tree. Now the brother and sister team of Carlos and Sara are making their own history in Merida with a casual, hip restaurant that provides legendary service, creative Mexican cuisine and craft beverages, and artistic presentations with an attention to detail. Enjoy the scallop and shrimp ceviches or an array of tacos made with soft shell crab, lamb and braised short ribs. Among the many desserts, I found the mostachon, a cake made with pecans, strawberries, raspberries and banana cream, to be a delish combination of ingredients.
