Cenote Dzitnup is about 4 km (2.5 mi.) s.w. of town on free Mex. 180, then about a km s. on an unnamed road (follow the signs). This is a better alternative than Cenote Zací if you want to try swimming. The natural pool of clear, blue water is inside a cavern where artificial lighting illuminates the stalactites hanging from the roof. The short flight of stone steps leading down into the cavern can be slippery. There are modern facilities, including restrooms, on site.
