AAA Editor Notes
The SS Klondike National Historic Site is next to the river at Second Ave. and Robert Campbell Bridge. One of the largest stern-wheelers on the Yukon River, the Klondike ran its route 1937-55. The original Klondike struck a gravel bar in 1936; a replacement was built the same year. The video, “In the Days of the Riverboats,” is presented continuously. Both guided and self-guiding tours are available.
