The SS Klondike National Historic Site is next to the river at Second Ave. and Robert Campbell Bridge. One of the largest stern-wheelers on the Yukon River, the Klondike ran its route 1937-55. The original Klondike struck a gravel bar in 1936; a replacement was built the same year. The video, “In the Days of the Riverboats,” is presented continuously. Both guided and self-guiding tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
Free. $3 for self-guiding brochure.
Hours: Daily 9:30-5, late May-Labour Day.
