Alexandre Mouton House is at 1122 Lafayette St. The oldest part of this structure was built about 1800 by Jean Mouton, founder of Lafayette, for use as a town or Sunday house. Furnished in period, the house operates as a museum; displays include heirlooms, local historical memorabilia and Mardi Gras costumes. A DVD presentation is available in English or French. Guided tours are available.
