Carlsbad Museum and Art Center

418 W. Fox St., Carlsbad, NM, 88220

Carlsbad Museum and Art Center is 1 blk. w. of Canal St. (US 285) at 418 W. Fox St., in Halagueno Arts Park. Established in 1931, it houses local and regional history displays, archeological specimens, contemporary and Southwestern art, Peruvian and Pueblo pottery and pioneer ranching artifacts. The McAdoo Room features paintings by the founders of the Taos Society of Artists. Changing exhibits include works by local artists, 3D photography of local cave explorations and displays produced by the Smithsonian Institution. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
