Cave of the Winds Tour, on Goat Island, follows wooden walkways to within 25 feet of the base of the falls. An elevator takes visitors 175 feet through the Niagara rock escarpment into the Niagara Gorge to view the falls from the bottom. After donning a souvenir raincoat and footwear, visitors are guided to the Hurricane Deck, just 20 feet from the roaring Bridal Veil Falls, where a good dousing can be expected. Rainbows are generally visible day and night. The Gorge Trip, which operates seasonally, takes guests by elevator down into the Niagara Gorge to an observation deck at the base of Bridal Veil Falls. Also available is a special viewing deck for children and physically impaired persons. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
