Tuolumne Grove

Tuolumne Grove, on old Big Oak Flat Rd., 17 mi. from Yosemite Valley, contains 20 giant sequoia trees, including the Dead Giant stump. Automobiles are no longer permitted on the section of Big Oak Flat Road adjacent to the grove. Visitors may park their cars near the Crane Flat Junction at a lot off of Tioga Road and walk to Tuolumne Grove; however, the mile-long route descends approximately 700 feet and the return ascent to the parking lot is a moderately strenuous climb.
