Clarion Inn & Suites Dothan South

The room they gave us deserves less than 1 star. Although the hotel was fairly empty when we arrived, the rude guy at the front desk insisted on putting us upstairs in the very back after I told him I had the AAA rate. He said there were no rooms available on the first floor. I found out later that was not true. I told him I was mobility impaired and asked where the elevator was. He said there were stairs. I had to carry all our luggage 250 yards, then up a flight of stairs and around three corners to our room - on two injured knees. There was only one working luggage cart, and other guests who checked in earlier that afternoon took the cart and kept it. The room was dreadful: dirty. filthy toilet, no cups, mold in the tub and shower, only one washcloth and hand towel, no trash cans, no plastic water glass, no coffeemaker, no mattress cover, but with food and other substances sticking to the walls and dust everywhere. The place looked like it had not been cleaned in ages. When I called the front desk to complain, no one answered the phone. My wife and I were too tired to fight with them about the way they treated us. We slept a few hours (on top of the bed covers) and left early in the morning. We felt miserable all day and the next. I hope we didn't catch anything from that nasty place! The five pictures I uploaded were gross, but five pictures were not enough to convey how truly vile this place is. The Clarion hotel chain has REALLY taken a turn for the worst. The management and staff at this hotel need to be replaced. I have never been treated so poorly or seen such abysmal cleanliness or amenities at any other national chain. Don't stay at this place.
