Maryland's National Scenic Freeway

The country's first interstate highway, the National Road, roams across hills and through hemlock forests, the Appalachian Mountains and the Cumberland Narrows. Maryland's section of this historic route sails past Rocky Gap State Park and through part of the Green Ridge State Forest on controlled-access I-68.
