Convenient, Dependable Automotive Repair Is Just Around the Corner
Studies show that many consumers would rather have a root canal than get their vehicles repaired. Historically, auto repairs have been a major source of consumer complaints. The list of repair problems continues to grow and includes defective workmanship, high costs, long service delays, and questionable repairs.
In a continuing effort to support and deliver complete automotive solutions, AAA introduced a nationwide program offering members easy access to convenient, dependable maintenance and repair - the AAA Approved Auto Repair (AAR) network.
Today this network consists of more than 7,000 facilities throughout the United States and Canada. These full-service repair facilities are the cream of the crop and consistently meet - or surpass - AAA's stringent standards for technician certification, modern equipment and customer satisfaction.
To achieve approved status, facilities must successfully complete a demanding review conducted by AAA representatives. The facility must meet AAA standards for level of cleanliness, proper tools, technical training, and ASE certifications. Customer satisfaction surveys also are distributed to at least 150 customers during the review. To be considered for participation, the facility must achieve a rating of not less than 90 percent satisfied.
Once a facility achieves approval, AAA continues to ensure member satisfaction by demanding AARs:
- Provide a written estimate that cannot exceed 10 percent without obtaining prior approval. (State and local laws take precedent where applicable.)
- Make replaced parts available when requested, after repairs are completed. (Excludes parts that must be returned to the manufacturer under warranty specifications.)
- Offer AAA members a nationwide warranty that guarantees the effectiveness of repairs, parts, labor, and components for a minimum of 12 months or 12,000 miles.
- Resolve disputes through binding arbitration administered by AAA.
AAA established these tough standards to recognize and support repair facilities that provide consistent, high quality workmanship, and to protect our members. As a member, you have easy access to repair facilities nationwide. Facilities that offer quality services provided by certified technicians.
Although non-members do not receive the same benefits as our valued AAA members, they can benefit from this network. They can be assured that a facility displaying the AAA Approved Auto Repair sign has met - or exceeded - AAA's standards and is a reliable repair establishment.
Whenever you need convenient, dependable service, look for the AAA sign or visit AAA.com/ApprovedRepair. A AAA Approved Auto Repair facility is probably just around the corner.
