October Is Car Care Month

Maintain Your Car and Pay Less at the Pump

Not only will regular vehicle maintenance improve fuel economy, in most cases it also will protect you from budget-busting repair bills. And, your savings account isn't the only thing you'll protect by paying attention to your vehicle. A car in top working condition is safer for you and your passengers.

AAA and its network of Approved Auto Repair (AAR) facilities are ready to help you make sense of car care. Whether it's a simple oil change, or a complex repair, you can trust an AAR facility to provide the highest quality service. To help you keep your vehicle in tip-top shape, AAA is offering you the opportunity to receive a free maintenance inspection.  Check out the events in your area.

Top Five Car Care Do's That Don't Get Done

Your car needs an oil change or a tire rotation. It's one more chore on your never-ending "to do" list, and sometimes it just falls through the cracks. Apparently, you're not alone. Last year, AAA vehicle inspection events held during Car Care Month uncovered a variety of maintenance issues that were well on their way to becoming real problems for vehicle owners. Here are the top five:

  1. Over- or under-inflated tires
  2. Clogged engine air filter
  3. Corroded or loose battery cables/clamps/terminals
  4. Inadequate supply of windshield washer fluid
  5. Low and/or dirty engine oil

Regular maintenance helps ensure that your vehicle operates more safely, uses fuel more efficiently, lasts longer and retains its value for resale. During Car Care Month, Hoosier Motor Club is hosting events where you can get a thorough vehicle check-up including tires, fluid levels, windshield wipers, battery, brakes, lights, belts, and hoses.  Click here for a complete list of Hoosier Motor Club's network of Approved Auto Repair and Auto Body Repair facilities.
