Privacy & Security Statement

This Privacy Statement explains how your personal information is collected, used and protected when you use the Licensed Application (the “AAA Auto Buying Tool”). In this Statement, the use of “we” and “our” refer to AAA Mid-Atlantic Inc., an automobile club associated with the American Automobile Association. Except for special situations, described below, our general privacy policy, found at AAA Mid-Atlantic's Privacy Policy, also applies.

Information We Collect: When you use the AAA Auto Buying Tool, we will ask you to provide your zip code, and may ask you to submit your 1) AAA club membership number in order to validate your membership, 2) full name and 3) phone number to provide you with auto dealer information. If you subsequently request AAA roadside service via the AAA Auto Buying Tool, we will collect your GPS location and other relevant information.

We also collect aggregated non-personal information from your and others’ use of AAA Auto Buying Tools. This assists us in improving the application and our service to you.

How We Use the Personal Information We Collect: Your personal information is used to validate your membership and to provide roadside service when requested. In addition, should you activate an option in the AAA Auto Buying Tool to “Find AAA Dealer” or “Buy Through AAA”, your contact information may be provided to the AAA automobile club in which you are a member and to independent automobile dealers. In that case, your personal information will then be used and disclosed as described in your AAA automobile club’s privacy policy.

Information We Share: If you request roadside assistance via the AAA Auto Buying Tool, we may share your personal information with the club in which you are a member as well as the AAA motor club that will respond to your request for roadside service. In addition, should you use the AAA Auto Buying Tool to contact an auto dealer, we may provide your contact information to your AAA automobile club and to independent automobile dealers.

Protecting Your Information: We use physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information. We require our employees to keep personal information confidential. Access to such information is provided only to those employees who need personal information to perform their duties.

In the event you activate the “Find AAA Dealer” or “Buy Through AAA” options in the application, your information may be used and disclosed as described in your AAA automobile club’s privacy policy. This policy should be available on your club’s website.

We may amend our Privacy Statement at any time. You should review the Legal Notices and Privacy Policy button on this App periodically for such changes as we do not separately notify you of any changes. Effective date Febrary 15, 2013.
