Overall Observations
Infiniti’s midsize, 3-row SUV took a year off in 2021 and returned,
completely redesigned, in 2022. It’s far more stylish, both inside and
out, than the previous generation.
The 2020 QX60’s V6 engine carried over for 2022, but now it’s
mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission instead of the previous
CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive is optional. On the
road, we experienced hesitation and surging from the throttle, and
some folks may find the QX60’s ride too firm for a luxury SUV. Rear
visibility is also poor.
The QX60’s cabin is nicely appointed; we especially appreciated
the top-level Autograph model’s wood-trim dash and comfortable,
quilted leather seats. The cabin’s first 2 rows have good headroom
and legroom, although getting into the third-row is difficult. Cargo
space is quite good - 75 cubic feet with the second-row seat backs
folded down. The QX60 has a strong complement of ADAS features.
A notable downside, however, is that the infotainment system is
nonintuitive, and the instrument cluster feels outdated.
