Overall Observations
Infiniti’s midsize, 3-row SUV took a year off in 2021 and has returned,
completely redesigned, for 2022. It’s far more stylish, both inside and
out, than the previous generation.
All QX60s come with a 3.5-liter V6 (295 hp) carried over from 2020;
this year, it’s mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission, which
replaces the previous CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel
drive is optional. On the road, we experienced hesitation and surging
from the throttle, and some may find the QX60’s ride too firm for a
luxury SUV. Rear visibility is also poor.
The QX60’s cabin is nicely appointed; we especially appreciated
the top-level Autograph model’s wood-trim dash and comfortable,
quilted leather seats. The cabin’s first 2 rows have good headroom and
legroom, though getting into the third-row seating is difficult. Cargo
space is quite good - 75 cubic feet with the second-row seat backs
folded down. The QX60 also has a strong complement of advanced
safety features. A notable downside, however, is that the infotainment
system is unintuitive and the instrument cluster feels outdated.
