In Rockford, Rock River Scenic Drive winds through forested areas, and lovely homes dot the way. Parking at Lowden State Park gives travelers a chance to admire Lorado Taft’s 50-foot statue, which was designed as a tribute to Native Americans. SR 2 continues into a Dixon neighborhood consisting of late 19th- and early 20th-century homes.
