The Wild Ammonoosuc River winds alongside SR 112 making appearances through the lush canopy of trees of the White Mountain National Forest. On the south side of Kinsman Notch, the westernmost of the White Mountains’ iconic passes, the byway passes by Beaver Brook Trailhead and the entrance to Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves.

This scenic drive runs through the western portion of the White Mountain National Forest past the entrance to Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves. North of Kinsman Notch, the Wild Ammonoosuc River can be spotted through the trees, and along with the beautiful foliage of fall, travelers may also spot moose, most often seen at dusk, May through October, around Lincoln.
