This two-lane road meanders through parts of Salmon-Challis National Forest, with the Salmon River as a nearly constant companion. This is Lewis and Clark territory. Along the drive you’ll be treated to scenic flatlands as well as distant mountain slopes. The rugged foothills of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area mark the southern extent of the byway.
