Scenic gold awaits on the Elkhorn Drive Scenic Byway (US 30/SR 7/CR 24/FR 73), a loop which goes through Baker Valley and passes serene lakes on its way into the Elkhorn Mountains, where amicable mountain goats roam. Peer at the Sumpter Valley Dredge and mining equipment preserved from the Gold Rush era, then cast for trout in Phillips Lake.
