The Hood Canal Scenic Route (SR 106) traces the lower extension of the L-shaped Hood Canal on the Kitsap Peninsula in the Puget Sound region of Washington state. Beginning in the town of Union in the “Great Bend” area, the byway follows the southern shore of the canal to its end near Belfair.

The hazy peaks of the Olympic Mountains are visible over the rooftops of houses along SR 106 as it follows the shoreline of Hood Canal. The byway passes through Twanoh State Park, where shellfish harvesting is a popular pursuit. Both the byway and the canal end near Belfair, where SR 3 continues on to the town of Bremerton, home of the Puget Sound Naval Base.
