22.8 miles: 32 minutes
Lincoln Highway Scenic Drive (US 50)—which climbs into the mountains west of Carson City—begins with a color scheme of tans and browns and greens in a beautiful desert landscape. Lake Tahoe appears and makes the view even better. There are vast, unobstructed views of the lake as well as places where you can see pops of blue in between stands of trees.
