Motorcyclists and driving enthusiasts travel from all over the world to experience the twists and turns of US129/SR 115 through the mountains of eastern Tennessee. The circuitous route includes more than 300 sharp curves in an 11-mile section (nicknamed "The Tail of the Dragon") before straightening out along the shore of the Little Tennessee River.

Pay close attention to your speed as you tackle this scenic section of US 129/SR 115. Popular with tourists, this Tennessee section of the Tail of the Dragon Scenic Highway has a terminus at the North Carolina state line and continues along the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with numerous hairpin turns along the way. An overlook near Calderwood Dam Road offers spectacular views of the Smokies and Calderwood Lake.
