SR 9, or Zion Canyon Scenic Byway, begins at I 15 and ends at US 89. Best known for cutting through the heart of Zion National Park, the winding road provides amazing views of geological wonders, particularly towering red-brown rock formations and the cone-shaped Checkerboard Mesa. A series of switchbacks leads up to the 5,607-foot-long Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel.
