From dusty scrub-brush-covered hills to rocky peaks dotted with pines, explore differing terrain as you climb to Mount Lemmon on Catalina Highway. Take a break from steep grades and sharp turns to experience the expansive vistas at one of many overlooks at every elevation. NOTE: Roads may close or require snow tires or chains in winter.

Trekking through the Coronado National Forest into the Santa Catalina Mountains, you’ll notice changes in climate and vegetation from cacti and scrub brush in the desert to stands of aspen, cypress and oaks in the mountains. Catalina Highway abounds with interesting and impossibly stacked rocks. Mount Lemmon is a popular ski resort with plenty of snow in winter.
