This family resort town on Lake Erie has been attracting crowds since 1869 when a public picnic grounds opened. The site gradually grew to include a carousel, campgrounds and then primitive cottages and a dance hall. Visitors still flock to this lakefront town for family fun and outdoor recreation. There is an 18-hole golf course as well as opportunities for boating, fishing and swimming on Lake Erie. Nearby Geneva State Park offers abundant recreational opportunities as well, including a beach. A free concert series is offered Tuesday evenings at Geneva Township Park mid-June through late August.
