Several films and television shows have made use of McDonough's charming town square, including the 2013 comedy “A Madea Christmas” and the ABC drama “Resurrection.” Historic brick buildings like the Romanesque-style Henry County Courthouse, built in 1897, and others now housing shops and eateries face the public green, the centerpiece of which is a monument to Henry County's Confederate dead.
