At the tip of the Bruce Peninsula, Tobermory and its two harbors, known as Little Tub and Big Tub, have been a haven for ships since Scottish immigrants arrived in the mid-19th century. The harbors offered sanctuary from the autumn gales that sank dozens of ships in the treacherous channel to the north.
