From 1930 to 1935 the Britannia Mine at Britannia Beach was the largest producer of copper in the British Empire. No longer in operation, the mine is now part of the Britannia Mine Museum.

At the CRS Trading Post on Hwy. 99 the wood and soapstone carvings, silver jewelry, spirit masks, jade pieces, handcrafted walking sticks, moccasins and other items are created by Coast Salish artists in British Columbia. Look for the rocks displaying hand-painted scenes by well-known local artist Ken Skoda.
