About ChicoBidwell Park, a 3,618-acre city park spanning an area from downtown to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, offers hiking and bicycling trails, a pool, a playground and various sports facilities as well as Chico Creek Nature Center. The original acreage was a gift to the city in 1905 from Annie Bidwell, wife of Chico's founder.
