About ClaremoreClaremore was the home of Lynn Riggs, author of “Green Grow the Lilacs,” the play that inspired the musical “Oklahoma!” Northeast of town on SR 28A near Foyil stands what is said to be the world's largest totem pole. Carved of stone and concrete, this 90-foot by 18-foot monument to Native American tribes is the center of Totem Pole Park. The park also has a museum and picnic area.
