About De PereDe Pere originally was called “Rapides des Pères” for the Jesuits who established the first mission in the state in 1669.
Visits to the Shrine of St. Joseph at Old St. Joseph Church on the St. Norbert College campus, 123 Grant St., are free. The shrine is open daily 8-4; phone (920) 403-3010.
