About DoaktownDoaktown was named after Squire Robert Doak, who brought his family from Scotland to New Brunswick in 1815. Doak wore many hats; he was a farmer, built a carding mill, gristmill, saw mill and kiln, officiated local marriages for nearly 30 years as justice of the peace, and served as court judge and coroner.
