About FillmoreFillmore was selected as the seat of government by the territorial legislature in 1851 and served as the territorial capital until 1856. The city and surrounding Millard County were named for President Millard Fillmore. The town is in generally flat country west of the Pavant Mountains and is a trading center for the surrounding farm and livestock region.
