DescriptionWilliam Conner, an early pioneer, arrived in the area during the winter of 1800-01. His two-story brick home serves as one of the focal points of Conner Prairie Interactive History Park.
Originally known as Fishers Switch, then Fishers Station, Fishers officially came into being in 1872. Its ties to a railroad heritage are obvious. The railroad drew residents and businesses to the area, and the growth began that has led to Fishers' status as a residential and commercial center.
