More About
Fort Bragg, CA

About Fort BraggFort Bragg was established in 1857 to oversee the Mendocino Indian Reservation; when the reservation was moved, the fort was abandoned and the settlement grew into a lumber and port town. Fishing and whale-watching cruises depart from Port Noyo, a small commercial fishing port at the south end of town. SR 1, the Pacific Coast Highway, is especially scenic as it winds through Mendocino County.
