About FultonFulton, named for steamboat inventor Robert Fulton, also was the birthplace of musician, poet, novelist and reviewer Henry Bellamann, who published three books of poetry and seven novels over more than 2 decades. Bellamann's best-known novel was “Kings Row”; the 1942 film adaptation of life in a small Midwestern town at the turn of the 20th century starred Ann Sheridan and Ronald Reagan. It was filmed on location, and downtown Fulton's brick-paved streets and historic architecture have been carefully preserved in the years since.
