Hot Springs is located in the Ouachita Mountains adjacent to Hot Springs National Park. The city gets its name for the naturally heated springs that led to its development as a spa town. Eight historic bathhouses make up Bathhouse Row in the Central Avenue Historic District. The region is well-known for its three nearby lakes— Lake Hamilton, Lake Ouachita and Lake Catherine—and for being rich in quartz crystals of superior hardness and brilliance; the finest are in the veins of Crystal Mountain. Baseball enthusiasts can follow the Hot Springs Baseball Trail, a 26-marker walking and driving trail that denotes the history of the sport. Learn More...
