About Lopez IslandOne of the islands that make up the San Juan Islands, Lopez Island also is one of the least visited. But for those who crave solitude it offers miles of back roads leading through farms and rolling woodlands and a rugged coast marked with steep cliffs and isolated coves. Mackeye Harbor was the site of the town of Richardson, a bustling fishing port at the turn of the 20th century.
The flat and rolling landscape has made the island particularly popular with cyclists. Camping and beach access is available at Odlin County Park and Spencer Spit State Park; Agate Beach County Park also provides beach access at low tide.
