Prospectors who settled on the west bank of the Pend Oreille River founded Metaline Falls in 1909. Several historical buildings here were designed by Spokane architect Kirtland Cutter. Occupying a 1912 school, The Cutter Theatre, 302 Park St., hosts live performances and showcases an art gallery, a mining exhibit and the Rural Schools Museum. Guided tours of the theater are available on weekends in the summer; phone (509) 446-4108. Learn More...
