About OconomowocSurrounded by lakes and easily accessible from Milwaukee, Chicago and other cities, Oconomowoc was a wealthy resort community in the late 19th century. The most fashionable people of the period built their elaborate summer cottages on the nearby lakes. Many of these houses remain and lend their charm to this popular vacation community.
