About San GabrielIn 1771 Mission San Gabriel Arcángel was established at the crossing of three heavily traveled trails, two from Mexico to Upper California and one that later brought settlers from the East to California. The community that took shape around the mission initially was devoted to agriculture and later to light industry. Incorporated as a city in 1913, San Gabriel today takes pride in its mission and its history.
