About StonewallNobody knows for sure if Stonewall was named after founding father S.J. “Stonewall” Jackson or the limestone ridge on which the town is built. The name fits well, though, since limestone quarrying sustained the area's economy from the early 1880s until 1967. Stonewall's past is captured through the old stone buildings dotting its streets.
