About TorreyTorrey is considered a gateway town to Capitol Reef National Park, given its location just 8 miles west of the park’s visitor center on SR 24. With a population of fewer than 200 people, Torrey is a tiny town, but it offers spectacular views of red rock formations and plenty of options for dining and accommodations. Hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing and canyoneering are popular recreational pursuits.
AAA’s in-person hotel evaluations are unscheduled to ensure the inspector has an experience similar to that of members. To pass inspection, all hotels must meet the same rigorous standards for cleanliness, comfort and hospitality. These hotels receive a AAA Diamond designation that tells members what type of experience to expect.
