About Tupper LakeTupper Lake, which began as a lumber and sawmill village in the 1890s, is a resort in the Adirondacks. As the logging industry diminished, the town shifted its commercial interests to its other natural resources.
Fishing, swimming and boating opportunities abound at Tupper Lake, Lake Simond, Raquette River and Raquette Pond, easily reached from Tupper Lake.
The resort also boasts a municipal park and campground with beaches, tennis courts, 18-hole golf course and boat-launching sites. The nearby mountains are suited to skiing, climbing and hiking. Other recreation areas can be found in Adirondack Park.
