About WillmarNumerous lakes in the vicinity of Willmar are the result of glaciers that melted millions of years ago. The city is the southern terminus of the 220-mile Glacial Ridge Trail, a circuitous but well-marked scenic drive. The route passes through Sibley State Park and several others before ending near Alexandria. Maps can be obtained from the convention and visitors bureau.
A summer highlight is the Little Crow Water Ski Show in New London, 15 miles north of Willmar. Performances are given Friday evenings June through August at Neer Park, 311 2nd Ave. S.E.
