The Japanese Tea Garden is at 3853 N. St. Mary's St. This former limestone quarry and cement factory is an oasis within Brackenridge Park. Founded in 1916, Park Commissioner Ray Lambert modeled the park after early 20th century Japanese art and fashion that were popular throughout the American West. Today, visitors can walk along shaded landscaped pathways with lush floral displays, across stone arch bridges over clear koi-filled ponds and past a picturesque 60-foot waterfall.

An interactive augmented reality experience, downloadable at app stores, includes a visual history of the garden as well as a map and the chance to take a selfie with Kokoro, the flying dragon.

Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Food is available.
