Penn's Landing, between Spruce and Market sts. along the Delaware River waterfront, marks the site where William Penn landed in 1682. The eight-block-long site offers scenic views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River. RiverStage at the Great Plaza at Columbus Boulevard and Chestnut Street hosts more than 50 festivals, concerts and events in summer. Visitors can walk along the boardwalk at Spruce Street Harbor Park at Spruce Street and Columbus Boulevard (open Mother's Day through late September). Arcade games, food and drink vendors housed in converted shipping containers, and more than 50 hammocks are featured in the park. The area is lit by colorful hanging lights at night.

Other highlights include Cherry Street Pier, an indoor and outdoor arts-focused space with resident artists, markets, food vendors, a bar and event spaces. Independence Seaport Museum, the historic ship and restaurant Moshulu, Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest roller skating rink (open Memorial Day through Labor Day) and Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest ice-skating rink (open late November through late February).
